Building a Blockchain

Building a Blockchain is a webapp designed to give a simple introduction to blockchain technology. Each step in building a blockchain is explained through interactive visuals, made using p5.js.

The final interactive demo of the webapp is collaborative, meaning two or more visitors to the site can interact with it at the same time and build a blockchain together on-screen. Each block added to the chain produces a corresponding musical note, so the complete chain can be played back as a melody.

This demo was made as part of a 24-hour design challenge, with a brief of making blockchain more engaging and accessible to new audiences. I chose to focus on simple, playful interactions, inspired by retro gaming aesthetics.
